Reception Team
Our reception team cover the surgery hours at all times, their job being to ease the flow of patient/doctor/nurse consultations so as many patients as possible can be seen within the working day. Should you call in to make an appointment or with an enquiry, the reception staff can arrange this in privacy if you wish.
Administrative Team
Administrative staff work "behind the scenes" using one of the largest medical computer systems available to general practice to ensure accurate record keeping and patient care, eg - exemption claims, insurance medicals, hospital appointments and referrals registrations etc.
Health Visitor
Health visitors play a major role in providing routine development checks for young children and helping with health queries.
District Nurses
The district nurses provide nursing care for those unable to come to surgery, eg. after hospital discharge etc.
Midwife
The midwife is available on Thursdays and Fridays to assist the doctors with antenatal care.
Counselling
Counselling is provided by our practice on certain days of the week but appointments are only arranged on referral from the doctor.
GP Training Practice
Woodbrook Medical Centre is a training practice. You may be offered an appointment with a qualified doctor gaining experience in general practice or be asked if one may be present whilst you consult your own doctor. If you prefer to see your doctor in private, please let us know.
Registrar Doctors
Registrars are fully qualified doctors who have decided they would like to become GP's. They will undertake a minimum of 24 months of 'on-the-job' training in a GP practice and during their time at Woodbrook Medical Centre they will be supervised by the partners.
Medical Students
Our practice is a teaching practice for the University of Nottingham and the University of Leicester. With the supervision of your doctor or nurse, medical students may, with your consent, join your consultation. This is one way medical students learn to become good doctors and understand patient views about their care. We appreciate your help with their learning. Please let your doctor or the practice manager know if you have any questions about our medical teaching.
